Our story
It all started in Venice.
We’re Agus and Daniella, from Uruguay. In 2017, we wanted to take a gondola ride, but paying the full fare for just the two of us felt like a lot.
A shared ride by chance
At the gondola station, we noticed another couple, Lino and Daniela from Naples, and wondered if they might want to share. Approaching them wasn’t easy. We had no idea if they were even looking to share a gondola, or if they’d be comfortable riding with two strangers.
We asked anyway.
They said yes. The four of us shared the gondola, split the cost, and had a great time together.
Making it easier to share
But the whole thing depended on luck. We happened to find the right people, in the right place, at the right time. There was no easy way to know who else was actually open to sharing.
Years later, that idea stayed with us. Sharing a gondola shouldn’t mean approaching strangers and hoping for the best.
That’s why we built Share a Gondola.
