Is a Gondola Ride in Venice Worth It?
For many first-time visitors, yes. But €90 for about 30 minutes is expensive, and a gondola ride is not something you need to do to enjoy Venice.

What do you actually get for €90?
The official daytime fare is €90 for about 30 minutes between 09:00 and 19:00. In the evening, from 19:00 to 04:00, the fare is €110 for about 35 minutes. A gondola can carry up to five passengers.
The important detail is that the fare is for the gondola ride, not €90 per passenger.
A gondola is also not really transportation, and you should not assume that a standard ride is a guided historical tour. You are paying to experience Venice from the canals, passing close to old buildings, bridges and narrow waterways in a way that feels very different from walking through the city.

When it is worth it

A gondola is one of those experiences that is strongly tied to a place. You may never feel the need to do it again, but doing it once on a first trip can make sense.
You have always wanted to do it
If riding a gondola is something you have imagined since you started planning Venice, I would not overthink the price-per-minute calculation. Travel is full of short experiences that stay with you much longer than they last.
The price fits your trip

I would probably save the money if €90 would meaningfully affect the rest of your trip, if you are expecting an hour-long sightseeing tour, or if your only reason for doing it is that gondolas are famous.
